- GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Objects of art are more fragile than they may appear. Here are a few helpful suggestions to help care for and maintain your beautiful artwork in good condition.
- Handling
Avoid touching artwork directly preventing absorption of oils in the skin from causing fingerprints. The best way to handle artwork is by wearing clean cotton or plastic gloves. If you don’t use gloves, make sure your hands are clean. Remove jewelry from your hands and lower arms to avoid scratching the artwork. Be careful to avoid creating dents and creases with your fingers.
- Moving
Move a painting using the wire or bar on the back of the piece and supporting the bottom of it.
- Placement
Do not place art in high humidity places, over active fireplaces or next to heating or cooling vents.
- Lighting
Do not expose art to direct sunlight. A halogen spotlight or floodlight directed at the piece will add to the beauty of the color of the artwork.
- Cleaning
Do not use water or any other solutions on any piece of artwork unless otherwise instructed. Be careful when dusting around the earrings, rings and other jewels.
